Come along and enjoy the relaxed vibe at the

DAMPIER BEACHSIDE MARKETS

The Dampier Community Association (DCA) is proud to present the Dampier Beachside Markets. These events are held at the picturesque Hampton Oval on The Esplanade, overlooking the sparkling waters of Hampton Harbour. Three Sunday Morning Markets take place during the cooler part of the year, between late March and June. From  October to December three Twilight Markets are held on a Saturday evening, concluding the year with a special combined Christmas Markets & Movie event.

The DCA designates a theme for each Market and liaises with local community and Not-for-Profit groups to be our chosen focus group. This enables the DCA to support other organisations whilst raising funds and awareness of these groups and what they bring to our community. All gold coin donations at our bouncy castle and face painting stalls go towards these worthwhile causes. With live music, a beautiful venue and a laid back vibe, this makes for a relaxed, friendly and affordable family event

These Markets bring together local & home-based businesses selling a vast array of product types, a variety of food vendors and local community groups. There is something for everyone at the Dampier Beachside Markets! Each event generally attracts around 30 stallholders, showcasing everything from clothing, plants, food, crafts, jewellery and art to eco-friendly products, and of course a good old sausage sizzle or egg & bacon burger fundraiser!

These events are made possible through funding from the City of Karratha and the support of local suppliers and vendors.

Any community or Not-for-Profit group is welcome to attend for FREE, holding a fundraising stall and/or providing information on their group. If your community group would like to be involved please register below as a ‘Community Group’ - no charge but you will need to upload your PLI.

The DCA manages our Markets, coordinating all stallholders and vendors. Please read the Markets FAQ’s, Markets T&C’s or contact the Dampier Community Association for any further information. You can also follow our Markets Facebook page to stay up to date.

💞 This month’s theme 💞

Mother’s Day

our may event is being held the week before mother’s day

Mother’s Day in England has its origins in the 16th century custom of 'Mothering Sunday', which fell on the fourth Sunday of Lent. Mother’s Day was first celebrated in America on May 12 1907, when Anna Jarvis held the first Mother's Day memorial service for her late mother, who had organised women’s groups to promote friendship and health. The first Mother's Day in Australia was held in 1910, mostly limited to special church services. By the 1920s, many Australians had started celebrating their mothers on Mother's Day. The giving of gifts was first introduced in 1924 when Janet Heyden of Sydney was inspired to collect charitable gifts for lonely, elderly and forgotten mothers in hospital who had lost husbands and sons during World War 1.

We hope you will join us at our Mother’s Day Market - it is a great opportunity to find something special to show your Mum how much she means to you.

There will be a a FREE yoga session at 9am along with a variety of stalls and food vendors.
